Today, the Tallahassee Democrat reported that a leader of the Leon County Democratic Party is looking to impose her extreme views on other members of the party in the name of political correctness. Acting party chair, Monica O'Neill, who was never elected to the position by Leon County Democrats, is attempting to force her beliefs on the party by denouncing the memory of Andrew Jackson, the former president, first military governor of Florida, and founder of the modern Democratic Party.

While conservative activists will continue to line up behind Judge John Roberts and liberals will continue to oppose him, the big losers of President Bush's announcement this morning are clear. Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas, both in line to succeed Chief Justice William Rehnquist, will now never realize their dreams.

The Roberts nomination was horrible for Scalia and Thomas. I may have been good for America.

This morning on Face The Nation with Bob Schieffer, Senators Specter and Leahy discussed the fact that Justice Sandra Day O'Connor may be waiting to be offered the position of Chief Justice.
